Manage your workout plans

Rename, activate, archive, and delete workout plans from one list.

Time
3 min
You'll need:
At least one workout plan

Once you have more than one plan - a current split and an old one, say - this is where you switch between them, tidy up the ones you're not using, and remove the ones you don't need anymore.

1. Open your plans

From the workout tab, tap Manage plans. Every plan you've created is listed with its exercise count, an Open plan link into its editor, and - on the one you're currently using - an Active badge.

2. Activate a plan

Tap Activate on any plan to make it the one offered when you start a workout. Only one plan can be active at a time - activating a different plan deactivates the previous one automatically.

A Push Pull Legs plan in the plans list with an Activate button, not yet the active plan.

3. Rename or delete a plan

Tap the plan's name to rename it in place - it turns into a text field; press Enter or tap away to save, Escape to cancel. You can also rename from inside the plan: tap Open plan, then Edit plan to open the Edit workout plan form and tap Save changes. The trash icon deletes the plan permanently, and asks you to confirm first since it can't be undone.

The Edit workout plan form: a Plan name field pre-filled with 'Push Pull Legs' and a Save changes button below it.

4. Archive a plan you're not using

Archiving moves a plan out of your active list without deleting it - useful for an old split you might come back to. Archived plans appear in their own Archived section, where you can unarchive them again.

When your coach manages a plan

A plan your coach built for you carries a Coach plan badge in the list, and opens with a banner naming the coach who manages it: "Your logging is still yours - this plan's content is read-only." You can follow it and log against it exactly as you would your own plan; what you cannot do is change what is in it.

Two buttons sit in that banner:

  • Follow this plan - makes it your active plan, so your day is built from it.
  • Duplicate to edit - creates a copy - the same name with (copy) appended - owned by you and fully editable. The copy is marked "Originally built by your coach - yours to edit now", and your coach's original is left untouched.

Deleting a coach's plan is permanent and your coach is not notified - duplicate it first if you want to keep the programming.

When it goes wrong

  • "Activate" or "Archive" shows an error toast instead of doing anything. You likely tried to archive your only active plan, or activate one that's still archived - follow the order above (switch active plans first, or unarchive before activating).
  • A plan won't delete. Deleting is permanent and always asks for confirmation first - if nothing happens after confirming, check your connection and try again.
