If a food isn't in Koach's database - a homemade dish, a local product, something with no barcode - add it yourself once, and it's searchable forever after under Mine.
1. Open the form
Tap Add custom food in the Foods library (under My foods), or tap Can't find it? Add a custom food below the Recent foods list in the add-food search step when logging or building a plan.

2. Name the food
Type a name into the required Name field.
3. Choose how you enter nutrition values
Toggle between Per 100 g and Per unit. Per-unit mode adds an optional Unit weight (grams) field - useful for something like "1 bar" where you know the weight of one piece but want to enter its nutrition per piece, not per 100 g.
4. Enter the required nutrients
Fill in Protein (g), Carbs (g), and Fat (g). Calories are computed automatically and shown live as "Calories (computed): N" - you never enter them directly.
5. Add optional nutrients
Tap More nutrients (optional) to reveal fiber, sugar, polyols, salt, and saturated/monounsaturated/polyunsaturated fat, all in grams. Skip anything you don't know.
6. Add a serving (optional)
In Per 100 g mode, you can define one serving - its weight in grams, a unit (like "slice" or "cup"), and a description (like "1 slice"). This lets you log the food by that serving instead of always entering grams.
7. Save
Tap Add food. The food is created and, if you got here from the add-food flow, it's selected automatically so you can go straight to setting its quantity.
When it goes wrong
- A required field shows an error. Name, protein, carbs, and fat are all required - "Enter a number of 0 or more" means a nutrient field is empty or negative.
- "A food with this barcode already exists." You reached this form by scanning a barcode that already matches another food - search for it instead of creating a duplicate.
- I want to change something after saving. See Edit a custom food.
