Overview

These terms govern your use of equival.io, the marketing website, and of the Koach app. Browsing the website, creating an account, or using the app means you agree to the terms that apply to it. If you don't agree, please don't use the website or the app. The sections below are split by scope: what applies to the website, what applies to the app, and what applies to both.

Using this website

You may browse this site freely. Don't attempt to interfere with its normal operation, scrape or copy its content at scale, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Intellectual property

The Equival name, logo, and the content on this site - text, design, and graphics - belong to us or our licensors. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce, modify, or redistribute it without our permission.

Website disclaimer

This site and its content are provided "as is", for general informational purposes only, without any guarantee of accuracy or continuous availability. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of this site.

The service

The app provides tools for tracking nutrition, strength workouts, daily check-ins and progress photos, sleep and body measurements, and a personal dashboard. The service is intended for personal fitness and healthy-lifestyle use only.

Account and sign-in

You sign in to the app using a Google account. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity that happens in the app through it. Please keep the details on your account accurate and up to date.

Minimum age

The service is intended for users aged 16 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 - if you believe we have, contact us so we can remove it.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app for anything unlawful, try to interfere with its normal operation, access other users' data, or intentionally overload the service (for example, generating large volumes of fake data).

Coaching features

Coaching features let one user (a "coach") view, and if granted, edit another user's (a "trainee's") data - always with the trainee's explicit, revocable consent, given separately for each category of data. This includes progress photos, which are off by default and shared only if the trainee actively turns photo sharing on for that coach. The trainee controls what's shared and can change or revoke it at any time from Settings → My coaches; access also ends if the trainee removes the coach or either account is deleted. If you use these features as a coach, you're solely responsible for your own professional, legal, and regulatory obligations toward your clients - including any professional standards, applicable health-data or privacy laws, and your own privacy obligations to them. This service is a tool for that work, not a substitute for your own compliance, and we don't vet, certify, or supervise coaches using it. Any plan or guidance a coach creates for a trainee is not medical advice from Equival, and is subject to the same limits described in "Not medical advice" below.

Cost and service status

The app is currently in beta and free to use. Future changes to pricing or the set of available features may occur; any such change will be communicated to you in advance and won't be applied retroactively to any period you've already paid for, if and when paid plans are introduced.

Not medical advice

The app provides tracking tools and general information only - it does not provide medical, nutritional, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or professional guidance. Consult a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional before starting a nutrition or workout program, particularly if you have an existing medical condition, are pregnant, or have any condition requiring special care. If you have or have had an eating disorder, consult your doctor or another qualified provider before using the app's calorie or macro tracking features. The app is not for emergencies - if you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

Assumption of risk

Physical exercise and changes to your diet carry an inherent risk of injury or adverse health effects, even when done carefully and as intended. By using the app's workout and nutrition features, you knowingly and voluntarily assume that risk. Stop immediately and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or any other unusual symptom while exercising or changing your diet.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without any guarantee of accuracy, continuous availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Your use of the app, including any workout or nutrition plan derived from it, is at your own sole risk. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of the service.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Equival harmless from any claim, loss, or damage, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app at any time and request account and data deletion in line with the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, and if necessary, discontinue the service entirely, giving reasonable advance notice where practical.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. A material change will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this document; continuing to browse the website or use the app after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to them, without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
